Kyrgyzstan is a mountainous country with vast highland pastures covered with a variety of honey plants. Therefore, Kyrgyz honey is distinguished by its taste and visual qualities. Meadows in the lower reaches of mountains, foothill pastures and hayfields are very rich in valuable meados: barberry, currant, mint, sage, oregano, eremurus, snakehead, yellow sweet potato, strawberries, sainfoin, etc.
The southern slopes are covered with natural fruit-bearing forests, and on the northern slopes and along with the mountain rivers there are flowering bushes and many other melliferous plants. Thanks to a diverse fauna, each region of the country forms the unique taste of Kyrgyz made honey.
